Cyprus Tournament: Wednesday team debuts against New Zealand

On the road to the World Cup qualifying matches against Portugal and Finland (March 27th and 31st), the National Women’s team makes a stop in Cyprus. Twenty-two players met yesterday in Rome and this morning left for Larnaca, where they had their first training session. The Cyprus Tournament, that is played from February 24th to March 1st, in addition to being an important showcase at an international level, represents a fundamental test for the team on its way to the World Cup.
The Netherlands, New Zealand and Scotland are the opponents of Italy; the other group has England, South Africa, Canada and Switzerland. The team debuts on the 24th against New Zealand, on the26th against Scotland and on March 1st against The Netherlands. In Cyprus the head coach Ghedin can count on a complete group, including Picarelli, Pini and Conti,who play abroad.
