Lippi: “Good match, I like the character shown by new players”

Bonucci and Cossu passed the test and were promoted by Marcello Lippi at the end of the match. “It was a useful test – said the head coach – I wanted to see the new players and they showed me some good things. I liked their personality, the authority with which they played. If we think that seven players were missing and that this was an experimental team, I do not think we could have asked for much more”. An excited Bonucci received compliments from Gigi Riva, who i san expert on football and football players. The player thanked him: “I think I played a good game – said Bonucci at the end of the match, but I want this to be starting point. On the field I did what Lippi had asked me to do in these days, according to what we had done in training. And then, playing with such great stars made everything much easier. I would like to thank everyone for the compliments, but as far as I am concerned, I want to play well Sunday after Sunday: the decisions are up to the coach”.
