Under-20 National Team drawn with Japan, Uruguay and South Africa for World Cup

Under-20 National Team drawn with Japan, Uruguay and South Africa for World Cup

South Africa, Japan and Uruguay will be Italy’s opponents at the Under-20 World Cup to be held between 20th May and 11th June in South Korea. The draw was held in Suwon this morning with Diego Maradona in attendance and the Azzurrini were placed in Group D. Italy’s debut will be on Sunday 21st May against Uruguay in Suwon, on Wednesday 24th May they will face South Africa there again before playing Japan in Cheonan on Saturday 27th May.

The Azzurrini qualified for the tournament after finishing second in the Under-19 European Championship held last July in Germany.

Group A: South Korea, Guinea, Argentina, England
Group B: Venezuela, Germany, Vanuatu, Mexico
Group C: Zambia, Portugal, Iran, Costa Rica
Group D: South Africa, Japan, ITALY, Uruguay
Group E: France, Honduras, Vietnam, New Zealand
Group F: Ecuador, USA, Saudi Arabia, Senegal
