Azzurrine set to take part in friendly double-header against Greece in Norcia

It’s been confirmed that Norcia will play host to Italy Women’s Under-17 National Team for their two upcoming friendlies against Greece on Thursday 31 August and Saturday 2 September.

In preparation for next season’s qualification games for the European Championship finals, the Under-17 side will return to Norcia after previously playing there three years ago against Scotland. Two friendlies were played between the two sides in September 2014, the first ending as a 1-1 draw and the second as a 2-0 win for the Scots.

A televised transmission of ‘A Goal for Italy’ went live in Norcia on May 22nd, as funds were raised to help the ‘Football Helps’ Project. This is an FIGC initiative created in collaboration with the Government Commissioner for Reconstruction and the Minister of Sport, aimed at supporting the areas struck by seismic activity back in 2016, particularly helping those communities in Abruzzo, Lazio, Marche and Umbria, as they seek to bring back sporting activity.
