CEO Uva in Lisbon for Football Management Course for Executive Leaders

FIGC CEO and UEFA vice president Michele Uva will arrive at the Cidade do Futebol in Lisbon tomorrow to speak at the Football Management Course for Executive Leaders. The course, organised by the Portuguese Football Association, is due to end in November 2018 and will analyse the evolution, foundations and governance of the football industry. Discussions will take place on Financial Fair Play and sporting systems as well as legal issues, the media and exemplary organisational models for the football system.

The director general will open the first of six scheduled sessions which are dedicated to governance and to the strategic profile of European football, referring to the FIGC and its principal activities as an organisational model. Officials and representatives from the Portuguese, Scottish and Saudi football associations will be in attendance alongside staff from the biggest clubs in the Portuguese league (Benfica, Braga and Guimaraes).

“Congratulations to the Portuguese federation”, said Uva, “for this initiative that represents a true investment, improving the skills and knowledge of those who work in football by looking at all the major themes linked to our sport. The development of football naturally follows on from educating the people who work in the sector, the people who constitute a fundamental resource for football federations across the world.”
