The Under-20 National Team won their first friendly of the season against San Marino. Atalanta’s Andrea Colpani scored a brace, Gabriele Gori converted a penalty and Lorenzo Valeau added a fourth in the 4-0 win for the side led by new Coach Paolo Nicolato after he moved up from the Under-19 side. The players who took part in the European Championship in Finland didn’t feature but the Azzurrini have started on the journey that will lead to the Under-20 World Cup in May next year in Poland with this friendly in Misano Adriatico.

Gori opened the scoring in the 28th minute from the spot after being brought down by Zavoli. Colpani doubled the lead in the 46th minute with a powerful left-foot strike from distance. The Atalanta number ten then scored his second in the 63rd minute with a low shot that went to Zavoli’s right. Lorenzo Valeau was set up by Gori to make it 4-0.

The Coach was satisfied following the final whistle. "Away from the result, I had the chance to see new players and I’m happy with the attitude shown on the pitch. I saw they were serious and wanted to be there. These are all things that will be taken into account in the formation of the group that will take part in the Under-20 World Cup next year."
