Seventh Antonio Ghirelli Prize launches with submissions open until 30th June

The FIGC is renewing its participation with the ‘Antonio Ghirelli’ National Prize for Football Literature which was founded in 2012 and is now in its seventh edition. The initiative focuses on literary works linked to the sport of football which can contribute to promoting and spreading the culture of the sport based on healthy values and constructive principles. It is promoted by the FIGC in collaboration with the Fondazione Museo del Calcio and the prize is reserved for works written in the Italian language with themes linked to football.

All works linked to the world football published between 1st January 2010 and 30th June 2018 may take part (click here). Any author can take part in the prize with just one work. It will not be possible to present works which have already featured in the previous six editions of the Antonio Ghirelli National Prize for Football Literature. Five categories are in place with individual prizes in the following subjects: Technical, specialised studies, essay, non-fiction and economics and management  .

Requests to take part must be made by 30th June 2018. The specific terms related to how works are presented (number of copies, sending of a digital copy, delivery address, other details) are stated in detail in the submission document (click here).

The jury will be nominated by the FIGC and consist of distinguished names from the fields of communications and technical sectors linked to the game of football. Furthermore, a Prize Director without voting rights will also be nominated.
