Lorenzo Insigne is the best Italian player of the 26th Serie A matchday, according to the votes cast by the country's three main sports papers.

He brought Napoli to victory with a brace against Bologna and got an average score of 7.67 thanks to an ‘8’ in the Corriere dello Sport-Stadio and ratings of ‘7.5’ from La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport.

He opened the scoring in the eight minute with a right-footed shot on the turn from the edge of the area, assisted by a back-heel from Zielinski. He went for another in the 20th minute, yet again on the turn, but Skorupski denied him. With around 20 minutes to go until the final whistle he displayed his unselfishness when, on a one-on-one with the keeper, he gifted it to Osimhen to make it two, who however wasted the opportunity. He finished the match off in a flash of individual brilliance in the 76th minute: first, he won the ball back in the final third and then he let fly with a precise, low shot that found its way into the back of the net. An all-round great performance from the Neapolitan, cementing himself as Napoli’s skipper and top goal scorer, with 13 goals so far.
