THE LEAGUE’S IN-FORM MEN

Kevin LASAGNA (G 8; C 7; T 7.5)     Udinese 2-3 Atalanta

It’s very easy to be made to pay and go behind against Atalanta, due in large part to the intensity with which Gasperini’s men play. Nonetheless, and in spite of the final result, Lasagna shone with an exquisitely executed brace. He was a constant thorn in the side of Atalanta’s back three, who never managed to get a grip on his unpredictable style of play.

Riccardo ORSOLINI (G 7; C 7,5; T 7)     Sampdoria 1-2 Bologna

It took him until the end of the game to get going, but when he did, he was simply unplayable. He won the penalty for Bologna and went on to score the goal that ensured they took all three points. It’s not surprising anymore and he’s a constant star in this Bologna side, who have a real talent on their hands.

Marco SILVESTRI (G 7; C 7.5; T 7)     Sassuolo 3-3 Hellas Verona

Can you win the man of the match award after having conceded three goals? Of course, and Silvestri proved that in what was an intense draw with Sassuolo. Conceding deep into injury time may seem to be “sporting injustice” but it represents the inescapable truth of football itself. He saved everything that was there to be saved, it was impossible to ask any more of him.
