His brace showed just how much that goal against Udinese took a load off his mind. He profited from a defensive error for his first and emulated his mentor Quagliarella with an acrobatic finish for his second.

Just the two saves, but they were undoubtedly crucial and of a very high degree of difficulty. He denied Pinamonti and Schøne to ensure that his team went home with all three points. His consistent level of good performances is staggering, especially seeing as he’s been this good for years.

His goal was simple on a technical level, but he compounded that with an enormous contribution in terms of intenisty and quality in the final third. He is the ideal finisher for De Zerbi due to his dynamism and manouvrability.
