61 today, ‘Beppe’ Dossena was born on 2 May 1958 in Milan. Over his career as a midfielder, he represented seven clubs between 1976 and 1992. He spent the most time at Torino (7 seasons) but his greatest success came at Sampdoria. With the Blucerchiato. he won the 1989 Coppa Italia, the 1990 Cup Winners’ Cup, one Scudetto and a Supercoppa Italiana in 1991.

For the Azzurri, he made his debut on 19 April 1981 in a friendly against East Germany in Udine. A year later, he was part of the squad at the 1982 World Cup in Spain under Enzo Bearzot although he didn’t make an appearance. His 38th and final Italy cap came on 10 June 1987 in a 3-1 friendly win against Argentina in Zurich.
