
FIGC mourns the passing of Pope Francis

The FIGC and President Gabriele Gravina join Inter and Ernesto Pellegrini's family in mourning, as Ernesto Pellegrini died at the age of 84. As President of the Nerazzurri for eleven years, from 1984 to 1995, Inter won the record Scudetto in 1989 (58 points in 34 matches), a Supercoppa Italiana and two UEFA Cup's. Additionally, in 2023, Pellegrini was inducted into the "Italian Football Hall of Fame", in the category of 'Italian Director'.
The FIGC President Gabriele Gravina spoke about Pellegrini, "A businessman, a director, a great man who has left an indelible mark on Italian football. The genuine passion and profound respect he contributed will not be forgotten".
