Tomorrow’s event in Campidoglio with 100 days to go until the start of the European Championship

Tomorrow in Rome, in Piazza del Campidoglio, the spotlight will be on UEFA EURO 2020 with 100 days to go until the tournament kicks off on 12 June with the match between Italy and Turkey at the Stadio Olimpico at 21:00 CEST.

The event, organised by Roma Capitale together with the Local Operator Filmmaster Events, will open at 08:00 CET and close at 18:00 CET and will present an exhibition of 15 shirts inspired by the colours of the national teams that have previously won the European Championship. There will be phrases and anecdotes on the shirts that recount the teams’ exploits, thus tracing a chronological path that leads up to this year’s inaugural edition as the championship is hosted across twelve European cities.

At 12:00 noon CET, in Piazza del Campidoglio, Daniele Frongia, Councillor for Sport, Youth Policies and Major City Events and Extraordinary Commissioner for Rome Capital of UEFA EURO 2020, will be present alongside Gianni Rivera, European champion in 1968 and runner-up in the 1970 World Cup.

Unique Jersey. As host city, on this occasion the Unique Jersey, a symbol of the Euros which has been designed exclusively for Rome, will be presented for the first time. It is comprised of a frame that has the contours of a shirt, designed for selfies and souvenir photos. Created as a frame through which to watch Rome, football and its people, but also the history and culture of the city, the UNIQUE JERSEY also works as a 3D sculpture that will be positioned in the Football Village.

Mobility Makers. During the day, the Mobility Makers programme will be launched with the task of supporting the Football Village and the Fan Zone to make it a unique and unforgettable experience for tourists and fans in Rome. Applications are open to adults aged between 18 and 65 who wish to participate in UEFA EURO 2020 in person. The initiative, supported by Volkswagen, will create a team of 500 mobility makes who can apply through the platform www.roma2020mobilitymakers.it
