adidas and FIGC, collection dedicated to Italian national teams presented

adidas and FIGC have unveiled the product collection dedicated to the Italian national teams (men's, women's, beach soccer, futsal and eSports), which represents a new chapter in the partnership between the brand and the Italian Football Federation. Ahead of EURO 2024 and the upcoming international fixtures, adidas intends to celebrate the Italian identity and that of its national teams, providing its athletes with the best technologies to perform at the highest level.

The communication campaign accompanying the launch of the FIGC collection celebrates the connection between players and fans, one which is represented by the shirt as a distinctive element. The Home Jersey, which will be worn for the first time in Italy’s upcoming friendly against Venezuela in Fort Lauderdale on 21 March, honours the tradition of Azzurri shirts. For the first time in history, the Italian Tricolore is found on the shoulders, uniting adidas tradition with the colours of the Italy flag. Both the Home and Away Jerseys are connected by the unique motif of the letter I - conceived in a digital form - which is, of course, the initial letter of the word ‘Italia’ (‘Italy’). Meanwhile, the phrase L’Italia chiamò’ (‘Italy calls’) appears on the back of the neck, a detail that refers to the national anthem written by Goffredo Mameli and composed by Michele Novaro. The FIGC crest is on the left of the chest, while the adidas logo - it is white on the Home Jersey - appears on the opposite side. The design also features two white crescent-shaped inserts down the sides. White shorts and blue socks complete the kit.

The Away Jersey also takes inspiration from the Italian flag. The red - on the left - and green - on the right - inserts combine with the white base to form the Tricolore. Meanwhile, the collar is Savoy blue, which, on the jersey, is also the colour of the adidas logo and the edging of the FIGC crest. On the back of the neck, the phrase L’Italia chiamò’ (‘Italy calls’) enhances the sense of identity from the words in the national anthem. The full kit includes blue shorts and white socks and will make its debut when Luciano Spalletti’s side face Ecuador in New York on 24 March.

For the travel collection, adidas has designed a Z.N.E. tracksuit for the Italian national team, bringing together comfort and style. The full-zip hoodie is characterised by an elegant artic night colour and the off-white monochrome crest of the national team. The product offering dedicated to Azzurri and Azzurre is completed by a wide range of training garments featuring gold and Tricolore details which are enhanced by a midnight blue base for the athletes and a white one for the technical staff.

Sam Handy, Senior Vice-President of Product & Design at adidas, said: “It’s impossible to talk about the Italian national team jerseys without getting a sense of a decades-long legacy of beautiful products and elegant designs. With this year’s jerseys for UEFA EURO 2024, we’re delighted to have continued this journey with a range of products that builds on that legacy while, at the same time, looking towards the future. We’re confident that fans will like having the Tricolore on the sleeves of the home jersey, while the next generation HEAT.RDY technology will be appreciated by the players on the pitch for the comfort and breathability it provides.”

The kits are made using the best adidas innovations, particularly materials that allow athletes to feel at ease thanks to HEAT.DRY technology, which is optimised to offer maximum comfort and breathability during sports performance.

The collection is available on the adidas website and app, in adidas stores, on the FIGC Store and at authorised retailers.
