Emilia-Romagna to host the first phase of Euro U17 qualifying in October

One year on after hosting the first phase of the Women's Under-17 European qualifying stage, the Romagnola Riviera will once again turn Azzurro: Santarcangelo di Romagna, Forlì and Cervia have all been chosen to host Italy's group games in this first phase of qualifying for the U17 Euros (25-31 October).

Massimiliano Favo's National team, who won the Four Nations Tournament in Germany a week ago, will open up against San Marino at the stadio Valentino Mazzola in Santarcangelo di Romagna on Wednesday 25 October (15:00 CEST, live on the FIGC website). It will be the same venue for the game against Northern Ireland three days later - on the 28th - (15:00, live on the FIGC website), while Forlì's Tullo Morgagni will host the Azzurrini's third and ginal game against Greece on Tuesday 31 October (15:00 CEST, live on Rai Sport). Two other games will be played, with Greece facing Northern Ireland and San Marino at the stadio Germano Todoli in Cervia.

There are 13 groups in this first phase of qualifying, with the top two, along with the best five-placed sides, going through to the Elite phase. In March, in the second phase of qualification, the 15 finalists will be decided, who will join hosts Cyprus in the Finals, set to take place from 20 May to 5 June 2024.

Last season, the Under 17s, under Bernardo Corradi, reached the Finals in Hungary, but were unable to get past the group stages. After losing to Spain (2-1) and Serbia (2-0), a 3-0 win over Slovenia in their final group game was not enough for them to book their place in the quarter-finals.
