FIFA Ranking: Italy climb to 12th place, their highest position since June 2014

The Women’s National Team has returned to the top four in Europe for the first time in 28 years. The performance from Andrea Soncin’s side during the European Championship in Switzerland has also had an impact on the FIFA Women’s World Ranking, the latest rankings for which were released today.

Italy have climbed from 13th to 12th place, equalling their highest position since June 2014 and moving closer to their highest-ever ranking, 10th, last reached in August 2012. Spain sits at the top of the rankings who, despite losing the final of EURO ’25 in Basel to England, moved ahead of the United States to take first place. Sweden, up three spots, make the top three, while two-time European champions England move from fifth to fourth.
