Gennaro Gattuso returned to the capital to visit Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio. Accompanied by Delegation Head Gianluigi Buffon and assistants Luigi Riccio and Leonardo Bonucci, the National Team Head Coach is continuing his tour of Serie A training camps – a schedule that has already seen him, in less than a fortnight, observe the preparations of Roma, Juventus, Inter, Cagliari and Bologna.

Gattuso was welcomed at Formello by sporting director Angelo Fabiani and club manager Alberto Bianchi. After an initial exchange of greetings with the Lazio coach and all the players, he watched the Biancocelesti’s training session.

With the Azzurri’s next World Cup qualifier coming up against Estonia in Bergamo on 5 September, Gattuso’s busy schedule of visits to Serie A clubs continues tomorrow, 8 August, when he will call in on Sassuolo. Then, on Wednesday 13 August, Gattuso will first visit Udinese’s training centre before heading to the Stadio Friuli in Udine to watch the UEFA Super Cup showdown between Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham.
