Gennaro Gattuso made his third stop on his Serie A pre-season tour today. After visiting Trigoria last Friday and Continassa yesterday – the training grounds of Roma and Juventus, respectively – he paid a visit to Inter at their base in Appiano Gentile.

Accompanied by the National Team Delegation Head Gianluigi Buffon, assistants Luigi Riccio and Leonardo Bonucci, and Club Italia organising secretary Mauro Vladovich, the Azzurri Head Coach met with Inter president and CEO Giuseppe Marotta and coach Cristian Chivu. Gattuso then watched the Nerazzurri’s training session before greeting the coaching staff and players, many of whom have been involved with the National Team for several years. Italy will resume their World Cup qualifying campaign in just over a month, facing Estonia on 5 September in Bergamo and Israel three days later in Debrecen.

Looking ahead to these fixtures – and with the aim of building a direct relationship with clubs and players – Gattuso will continue his tour by visiting Cagliari’s training camp at Asseminello on Saturday 2 August. That evening, he will watch from the stands at the Unipol Domus as the Sardinians take on Saint-Étienne in the Gigi Riva Trophy. On Wednesday 13 August, he’ll watch the UEFA Super Cup clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur in Udine.
