Groups drawn for the European Championship, with Italy set to make their debut against Portugal

One year after their extra-time defeat in the European Championship final, the Under-19 National team will now meet Portugal once again. They will be the Azzurrini’s first opponent in the upcoming European Championship which will be taking place from 14th to 27th July in Yerevan. Drawn in Group B, the Under-19s will make their debut on Sunday 14 July before then facing Armenia on Wednesday 17th and Spain on Saturday 20th.

Italy, who qualified for the tournament thanks to Elite Round victories over Ukraine and Serbia, will now go in search of their second tournament triumph. Their only previous title came in 2003 when the Azzurrini beat Portugal in the final thanks to goals from Della Rocca and Pazzini.
