Italy beat Turkey 4-0 and comfortably qualify for the Elite Round

Twelve goals scored and none conceded. These are the numbers behind the Azzurrini’s magnificent run with the side winning against Turkey in Mondorf les Bains in Luxembourg to confirm their place top of the group thanks to a Fabio Miretti brace along with Luca Magazzù and Ramen Cepele goals.

The side went ahead after 16 minutes through the Inter forward Magazzù as he struck in the third consecutive match of qualification. Italy got a second in the 39th minute through Miretti who scored directly from a corner before killing the match off two minutes later with Cepele finishing after a scramble in the box to make it 3-0. In the second half, Miretti was set up by Tommaso De Nipoti who registered his second assist to make it 4-0.

“I’m very satisfied, we’ve had three excellent games,” said the Coach Daniele Zoratto. “It was important to get through as the top side in order to get a favourable draw for the Elite Round. I liked the spirit shown by the guys, the intensity on the pitch and how they managed the game against a very strong team in Turkey.”
