Looking ahead to the World Cup: Nunziata calls up 22 players for friendly double-header against Serbia

On Tuesday 3 September, the Under-18 National Team will get together at the Centro Giulio Onesti in Rome as they continue to look ahead to the Under-17 World Cup, which will begin on 26 October in Brazil. Carmine Nunziata has named 22 players (all of whom were born in 2002) in his latest squad, with Italy set to face Serbia in a friendly double-header on 7 and 9 September. The two matches will be played in the capital: the first will take place at the Centro Sportivo Francesca Gianni (at 17:00 CEST on Saturday 7 September), while the second will be held at the Stadio Tre Fontane (at 14:30 on Monday 9 September). The players will then return to the respective clubs following this.

The Azzurrini’s final training camp before the World Cup will take place at the Centro di Preparazione Olimpica in Tirrenia from 6 to 13 October before the team will then fly out to Brazil, more specifically Brasilia. Italy have been placed in Group F with Paraguay, Mexico and the Solomon Islands. They’ll kick off their World Cup campaign on 28 October against the latter of this trio at the Estadio Bezerrao in Gama.
