Sbardella calls up 24 Azzurrine for friendly double-header against Austria

With the COVID-19 pandemic having put a stop to play, the Under-19 National Women’s Team are set to return to the pitch for a friendly double-header against Austria, which comes 18 months on from their last match in the La Manga Tournament in March 2020. The first game will be played at 16:00 CEST on Sunday 19 September at the Stadio Gino Colaussi in Gradisca D’Isonzo, while the second fixture is scheduled for 10:30 CEST on Tuesday 21 September at the Stadio Enzo Bearzot in Gorizia.

Head Coach Enrico Sbardella’s squad contains 24 players, who will meet up at the Olympic Training Centre in Tirrenia on Monday 13 September. The two fixtures against the Austrians represent a valuable test ahead of the first phase of European Championship qualifying, which will take place between 20 and 26 October and see the Azzurrine face Poland, Azerbaijan and Norway in Veneto.
