The Azzurrini draw 1-1 with Hungary in their second friendly; Turco cancels out Ulbert’s goal

The Under-16 Italian National Team’s second friendly against Hungary ended in a 1-1 draw. 24 hours after a 2-0 victory in their first encounter on Tuesday, Italy were held to a draw in the rain by their hosts in Telki. Renato Ulbert had opened the scoring for the home side in the 27th minute, but Italy were soon back on level terms thanks to a goal from Juventus forward Nicolò Turco.

A tough result for Daniele Zoratto’s side, who got close to scoring through Federico Accornero and Andrea Palella in the first 45 and then dominated the second half, going close to a second on plenty of occasions with Turco and Samuele Vignato.

Zoratto said the following after the game: “We had a fair few chances to score in the first half but the game was quite balanced, whereas the second half was only played in one half of the pitch. This is an interesting group, they did well with Bernardo Corradi in the first part of the season and they’ve shown their quality in these last two games. I’ve made an effort to see all of the boys at work, the goal in the coming months is to expand the group in order to have more to choose from as well as better cover for any injuries that arrive.”
