La formazione dell'Italia nella finale 2008

Italy's last participation in the 'Tournoi Maurice Ravello' dates back to 2011: Italy, led by Ciro Ferrara and with players born in 1990 and 1991, such as Caldirola, Saponara, Destro, Gabbiadini, lost in the semi-final to France before beating Mexico on penalties in the final for third place. Their only success in the 'Maurice Ravello' - commonly called the 'Toulon Tournament' - was in 2008: Italy, with Pierluigi Casiraghi in charge, who a few weeks later would be involved in the Beijing Olympic tournament (several players in the squad would later be part of that competition), beat Chile 1-0 in the final thanks to Pablo Daniel Osvaldo's goal.

Andrea Barzagli e Adriano

Italy have also had two second-placed finishes (2002 and 2003, both with Francesco Rocca, and a future World Cup winner in the 2002 squad in Andrea Barzagli) and two other third-placed finishes, in 1975 and 2000 (in the team, among others, other world champions such as Gilardino and Iaquinta). Overall, it will be Italy's twelfth time in the 'Tournoi Maurice Ravello'. The last edition was played in 2022 and hosts France won. All of Italy's matches will be broadcast live on Rai 2.
