After having achieved their goal of World Cup qualification, the Italian National Beach Soccer team now turn their attention to the European Championship in Portugal. From 16 to 18 August the Italian reigning champions will play the qualifiers in Catania for the Superfinal, which is scheduled for September in Figueira da Foz. The best seven teams of the twelve continental elite will all participate, in addition to the host nation.
Head Coach Emiliano Del Duca has called up ten players for the games, all coming from the top three sides of the Serie A league: Sambenedettese, Catania and Viareggio. The group will begin training on 12 August with two sessions a day to prepare for the matches: Friday 16 against Germany, Saturday 17 against France and Sunday 18 against Belarus (all games will begin at 18:00 CEST).
