The partnership between FIGC and PUMA comes to an end: a special farewell to pay tribute to 20 years of history together

The partnership between FIGC and PUMA, the longest and most successful technical collaboration in the history of the Azzurri, will come to an end in the next few days: 20 years accompanied by so many unique moments, including the triumphs in the 2006 World Cup and the 2021 European Championship. For the occasion, the FIGC wanted to thank its technical partner today with the '20 years on our chest' communication campaign: a thank you page was published in the main sports newspapers with graphics highlighting the 13 Azzurri shirts that have marked this successful partnership.

In addition, on the FIGC's social channels, a video was published retracing the journey made together with PUMA through the most iconic shirts and some of the best players to have worn them.

PUMA, in order to celebrate and retrace the most significant stages of this relationship, has instead chosen to bring two of its most beloved ambassadors of the Italian national team together in a special and exciting one-to-one: Gianluigi Buffon, who holds the record for appearances with 176 games, world champion in 2006 and European runner-up in 2012, and Giorgio Chiellini, who has 117 appearances and was crowned European champion in 2021.

In the video, published on their PUMA socials, the two Azzurri legends address three themes, each through some of the shirts that have made history in the PUMA-FIGC partnership, recalling stories and anecdotes from their careers with the national team: the longest and most successful partnership in the history of the national team; the falls and adversities they have faced over the years; and the kits they consider most iconic. Among the shirts featured in the video are PUMA's first kit (2002), which is the one Chiellini wore on his debut for the national team, and the last one produced, with its ultraweave technology worn up until last November. The green 'Renaissance' shirt also features from 2019, as well as the one from the Confederations Cup (2009) and the shirts worn when Buffon (in 2006, gold) and Chiellini (in 2021) were victorious.
