The U17 National Team closed out their friendly tournament in Portugal on high after winning 2-1 against Scotland. This came after a 2-1 win against Portugal and a 2-1 loss to Serbia three days ago.

The Azzurrini went down early, conceding a goal to Dundee United midfielder Jamie Forrest in the first minute. However, they turned the game around with goals from Empoli forward Diego Perillo and Parma defender Djibril Diallo in the 28th and 83rd minutes respectively.

This tournament was useful for us to close the circle ahead of the first phase of Euro qualifying, said head coach Daniele Franceschini. “We saw great character and commitment to the shirt. Today, after conceding a goal, we managed to turn the game around. We have a broad base and clear ideas, but we will continue to monitor the players over the next few weeks to assess their form and development.”
