Vivo Azzurro Summer Camp comes into being

Imagine being between the age of seven and 16 and having the chance to grace the same pitches that Italian National Team champions play on. At first, it might seem like a pipe dream, but, thanks to the Vivo Azzurro Summer Camp, exactly this will be possible from 28 to 30 June at the Luigi Ridolfi Federal Technical Centre in Coverciano and from 7 to 12 July in Misano Adriatico.

“Youngsters who support the National Team can enjoy a fantastic experience thanks to the professionalism of the staff members involved. They are all Club Italia coaches,” said Alberto Bollini, the current U20 Italy Head Coach. For this project, he’ll be joined by Francesco Antonioli, Enrico Battisti, Matteo Barella, Matteo Brighi, Andrea Cardone, Luca Dalmasso, Marco Montini, Alessandro Musicco, Andrea Serino and Nicolò Varesco - a truly first-rate team. “A young lad can get to know the professional world without having to necessarily be a champion,” added Bollini. “This is a unique experience that gives those involved the chance to make new friends, learn and grow with the Azzurri colours at their side.

Bollini, who has won two Primavera league titles (2000/01 and 2012/13), the Élite League (x2) and the European Under-19 Championship (Malta 2023) during his 40-year coaching career, has decided, with the help of the FIGC, to provide a memorable opportunity for young players: “We don’t want to create an illusion,” explained the Azzurrini Coach. “However, in the past, such experiences have helped some youngsters showcase their talent and subsequently earn a place in the youth setup of a professional team.”
