Yes Mask, the FIGC and Ospedale Pediatrico Bambino Gesù's anti-COVID campaign

"Champions wear a mask". The Ospedale Bambino Gesù has launched a social media campaign on Instagram to promote the use of face masks, with the children’s hospital in Rome giving it the name ‘Yes Mask’. The Italian Football Federation has joined the campaign, as a result of which Azzurri Mask has come into being. This is a special FIGC and OPBG filter that will also be used by the players of the Men's and Women's National Teams.

The collaboration of the Italian Football Federation with the Hospital is only getting stronger. It all started in 2019, when various projects marking the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the Bambino Gesù were launched.

On 16 October, the Bambino Gesù Hospital launched the Yes Mask campaign on their Instagram channel. This aims to raise awareness of the use of masks, the most important line of defence (alongside hand washing and social distancing) to reduce the spread of Covid-19 and protect everyone’s health. The goal is to reach young people in particular in a simple and fun way. The first filter launched by the Hospital offers a choice of twelve masks available with different colours and messages. With the FIGC having joined the campaign, the Hospital has created an ad hoc version of the filter: Azzurri Mask.

The filter is an effect that can be selected while taking a photo or recording a video on Instagram. The Azzurri Mask places a mask on the user's face and offers the user the possibility to select two different masks by touching the screen. Once the photo has been taken, the user can share it as a story on their Instagram profile, helping the Hospital and the Italian Football Federation to spread awareness of mask wearing.

The Azzurri and the Azzurre will support the initiative on their profiles during the upcoming National Team matches.

To use the FIGC and OPBG filters, just go to Instagram, slide your finger to the right and select the first available effect. Then, choose 'Browse effects' and search for ‘Ospedale Bambino Gesù’. From that screen, you can select the 'Azzurri Mask' filter and take a picture or record a video.
