Spalletti the runner-up at ‘The Best FIFA Football Awards’

Luciano Spalletti came second in the category of Best Coach at ‘The Best FIFA Football Awards’. The current Italy Head Coach was nominated for his work with Napoli last season and came second with 18 points to Pep Guardiola (Champions of Europe with Manchester City and the winner with 28 points). Coming up third with 11 points was another Italian, Simone Inzaghi, Champions League finalist with Inter.

On the stage in London, Guardiola spoke in Italian: “I want to share this recognition with Spalletti and Inzaghi. Luciano for an incredible season with Napoli, winning the Scudetto after many years. Simone because only I know just how hard it was to play against Inter in the Champions League final, a wonderful side”.

The three finalists were chosen by an international jury comprised of National team coaches and their respective captains, football journalists, and fans who were able to vote on the official FIFA website.
