Following the plea agreement reached by the parties (ex art. 126 CGS), Genoa was sanctioned with one penalty point to be served during the current football season in the Serie B league. The managing director of the Ligurian club, Andres Blazquez Ceballos, was also fined EUR 6,000.

The consent expressed by the Procura Federale (Federal Prosecutor's Office), which was also confirmed by the Procura Generale dello Sport at the CONI (Italian National Olympic Committee), is motivated by the fact that part of the payments of the Irpef withholding taxes relating to the months of September and October 2022 had been made and that, on 16 December 2022, the deadline for compliance, the club had a positive balance on its bank account that would have in any case allowed the full payment of the contested withholding taxes.
