Hall of Fame 2016

A number of greats were at the Salone dei Cinquecento at Florence’s Palazzo Vecchio for the Italian Football Hall of Fame ceremony. Nine new stars joined the pantheon of legendary figures from Italian football. They were:  Giuseppe Bergomi (Italian player), Paulo Roberto Falcão (Foreign player), Claudio Ranieri (Italian Coach), Silvio Berlusconi (Italian Director), Paolo Rossi (Italian Veteran), Melania Gabbiadini (Female Italian Player), Nils Liedholm, Giulio Campanati and Cesare Maldini (Posthumous Awards). The winners were selected by a jury consisting of the USSI President Luigi Ferrajolo along with editors from the main sportings newspapers. The new members of the Hall of Fame took applause alongside Diego Armando Maradona at the Palazzo Vecchio, two years after he was named a Hall of Fame member in the Foreign Player category.
