Our "Made in Italy" column to determine Serie A’s best Italian players during each round of fixtures, decided based on ratings given by Gazzetta dello Sport, Corriere dello Sport-Stadio and Tuttosport, has once again run alongside the league campaign, which culminated in Antonio Conte’s Inter’s Scudetto triumph.
Top of this particular list we find Lorenzo Insigne. The Napoli phenomenon, who has inspired the Naples side on many occasions this year, was rated as the player of the week by these media outlets four times. The 29-year old had another brilliant season; playing 35 times in the league, he scored 19 times (his personal best Serie A haul) and registered seven assists.
In second place, with three POTW awards, is Lorenzo Pellegrini, who scored seven goals (his most ever in Serie A) and provided six assists during the 2020/21 Serie A campaign.
Finally, the bronze medal was shared by the following Italians on two: Ciro Immobile, Domenico Berardi, Andrea Consigli, Gaetano Castrovilli, Manuel Lazzari and Mattia Zaccagni.
