Domenico Berardi has been selected as the best performing Italian player on matchday 31 in Serie A according to the top three sports newspapers in Italy.
A decisive performance, scoring a brace in Sassuolo’s comeback win and collecting an average media rating of 7.67 thanks to the 7 awarded to him by La Gazzetta dello Sport, and the 8 from both Corriere dello Sport-Stadio and Tuttosport.
He came on at the start of the second half and turned the match on its head. He scored to make it 1-1 in the 59th minute by converting the penalty that he himself had won. Three minutes later, he scored again from the spot, beating Dragowski to put the Neroverdi 2-1 up.
He proved himself dangerous for the rest of the match on several occasions as he went in search of his hat trick, coming close to getting it on a number of occasions.
With these two goals, Berardi brings his goal tally for Sassuolo up to 101, proving once more to be one of the most in-form footballers in the league.
