Marco Silvestri was the best Italian player on matchday seven in Serie A according to the top three sports newspapers in Italy.

The Verona goalkeeper enjoyed a standout performance in the 2-2 draw at the Meazza. His display merited an average score of 8: the Corriere dello Sport-Stadio awarded him an 8.5, La Gazzetta dello Sport gave him an 8, while he received a 7.5 from Tuttosport.

Silvestri put up a wall that prevented Milan from winning at San Siro, notably making two great saves to deny Theo Hernàndez. Despite being beaten by a cruel Magnani deflection for the first goal and an Ibrahimovic header in added time, the two goals he conceded did not discredit a very high-level performance, which saw him finish the match with seven saves.
