Mattia Zaccagni was the best Italian on matchday 9 in Serie A according to the ratings from the three principle sports newspapers in Italy.
The Hellas midfielder put in a brilliant performance in Bergamo as his side beat Atalanta. His display earned him an average rating of 7.5, as each and every one of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Corriere dello Sport-Stadio and Tuttosport gave him seven and a half.
Zaccagni had a near-perfect game, winning the penalty (converted by Veloso) that broke the deadlock and scoring Verona’s second. It was his third-ever goal in Serie A and first of the current campaign.
