Matteo Pessina is your Man of the Match for Italy vs. Wales, our third and final game in Group A at the Euros and a showdown which finished 1-0 to Mancini’s men.
The match-winner from Monza picked up 31.48% of the vote from fans on the FIGC website, thus finishing ahead of Marco Verratti (24,07%) and Federico Chiesa (16,67%).
Pessina was a key figure during the game, producing many moments of quality, reading play well and showing tactical intelligence throughout in the middle of the park. Testament to this was a clever run that led to him getting on the end of Verratti’s ball in and scoring the winner. He’s now found the net three times in his last three Azzurri appearances.
