The final meeting of 2025 for the Board of Directors of the Divisione Calcio Paralimpico e Sperimentale (DCPS) took place this morning in the Paolo Rossi Room at the FIGC headquarters in Rome, offering a positive review of the past year and a look ahead to what is already being prepared for 2026.

FIGC President Gabriele Gravina and Secretary General Marco Brunelli were in attendance, alongside DCPS President Franco Carraro and National Coordinator Giovanni Sacripante. Many Board members were present in person – Vice President Elisabetta Scorcu and members Emanuela Andronaco, Armando Caligaris, Christian Mossino, Santo Rullo and Nicola Simonelli – while Simone Perrotta joined remotely. Giacomo Tramati was absent due to health reasons.

Opening the meeting, Carraro highlighted the significant progress made this season: “Growth has been clear across the board,” he noted. “We now have 300 registered teams and around 4,500 participants, including players and staff, and we expect to reach 5,000 next year. For 2025/26, we are planning around 1,400 matches, with activities now offered in every Italian region.”

Gravina then praised the DCPS for its pioneering work: “First and foremost, I want to thank President Carraro and the entire DCPS for their tremendous commitment and excellent results. The FIGC was the first federation in the world to establish a division dedicated to Paralympic and experimental football, creating a model that attracts widespread interest – even within UEFA, where many ask us for our input. It is a unique project in the sporting world, one that puts people first and spreads positive energy.”

The meeting concluded with updates on the initiatives organised with the Ministry for Disabilities and all football leagues to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December, the various training courses underway, the publication of 7+ (the coaching manual for Paralympic football developed with AIAC), and the award received at the World Football Summit in Madrid, which was donated to the Football Museum in Coverciano at the end of November.
