The FIGC and Komen Italia have renewed their partnership in the fight against breast cancer. The three-year agreement between the Italian Football Federation and the organisation, which has been working across Italy for more than 30 years to promote women’s health and breast cancer awareness, has officially been extended.

The partnership will continue to focus on the main initiatives involving the FIGC in recent years: Race for the Cure and the Prevention Caravan. The aim is to raise public awareness and improve access to prevention activities, including through the FIGC’s nationwide network.
For each edition of Race for the Cure, the Federation will put together its own team and organise joint activities in the areas made available by Komen Italia, as it has done in previous years by displaying trophies won by Italy’s national teams. Players from both the men’s and women’s teams will also act as ambassadors for the fight against breast cancer, featuring in content published on the Federation’s official channels.

In October, the international month dedicated to breast cancer awareness and prevention, Komen Italia will also launch the campaign ‘Prevention Is Our Masterpiece’, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and with support from the FIGC.
Among the awareness initiatives carried out by the FIGC through its partnership with Komen Italia in previous years was the illumination of the façade of the auditorium at the Federal Technical Centre in Coverciano in pink.
