The FIGC and President Giovanni Malagò are mourning the passing of Osvaldo Bagnoli. The former coach, who led Hellas Verona to a historic Serie A title in the 1984/85 season and was inducted into the Italian Football Hall of Fame in 2017, died today at the age of 91.
“His great humanity and profound understanding of the game earned him the respect and trust of his players and enabled him to guide Verona to one of the most remarkable Scudetto titles of all time. That achievement remains one of the most memorable and emotional chapters in Italian football history. As the great coach he was, he always knew how to get the best out of the players at his disposal, consistently putting the team before individual talent,” said Malagò.
