In light of Italy vs. Türkiye, the Azzurri’s fourth match in the UEFA Nations League group, to be played on Monday 5 October at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara in Bologna, FIGC is renewing its commitment to promoting increasingly inclusive, accessible, and sustainable football. Its Social and Environmental Sustainability Matchday Format was introduced in 2024 and has been applied to Italy’s senior national team matches in Italy.
The format includes a series of targeted initiatives focused on inclusion, accessibility, and environmental sustainability, with the involvement of local associations and organisations.
In the last home game against Belgium, played on Friday 25 September at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, eight athletes from the Integrated Football Project used the Quiet Room, while more than 30 fans used the audio-description service through the Connect Me Too app. More than 90 kg of surplus food was also recovered from all the stadium’s Hospitality Areas.

SOCIAL SUSTAINABILITY
AUDIO DESCRIPTION FOR BLIND AND PARTIALLY SIGHTED FANS. The audio-description service for blind and partially sighted fans will also be available at the Dall’Ara, in collaboration with Unione Italiana dei Ciechi e degli Ipovedenti ETS-APS – Sezione Territoriale di Bologna. The service will allow fans to follow the game directly from the stadium using their smartphone and will also be available remotely, enabling a wider number of fans to experience the match from home through a dedicated app. To access the service, fans will need to download the Connect Me Too app from the Apple Store or Google Play Store and complete the registration process by entering their first name, surname, and a valid email address. Once registration is complete, an activation code will be sent by email. After entering the code, users can select the sport, league/federation and then the UEFA Nations League 2026 Italy vs. Türkiye event. To gain access to the audio description, users will need to enter the unique OTP code 71060. For assistance, please contact info@connectmetoo.it.
QUIET ROOM. A Quiet Room will be available for athletes from the FIGC Paralympic Football Division belonging to Edu in Formazione-Bologna Senza Barriere. They will be able to experience the game in a safe and welcoming space designed to make the stadium experience more inclusive and accessible, particularly for people with cognitive, psychological, and sensory disabilities.
ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
SUSTAINABLE CATERING. In line with the ‘Guidelines for Healthy and Sustainable Catering’ published by UEFA and distributed by FIGC, sustainable catering initiatives will be extended to all Hospitality Areas. Sustainable solutions will be adopted, promoting a carefully selected array of food and beverages, health-conscious preparation methods, and transparent communication. Priority will also be given to solutions that reduce the use of single-use plastic, the selection of organic and locally sourced products, and inclusive menus, encouraging more responsible consumption models.
FOOD SURPLUS RECOVERY. In Bologna, surplus food from all Hospitality Areas will also be recovered in collaboration with Arca della Misericordia. The surplus food will be collected and subsequently redistributed to people experiencing vulnerability, with the aim of reducing food waste and promoting the recovery of resources.
