For the 16th consecutive year, FrecciaRosa is back. The awareness and scientific outreach project is promoted by the FS Group and Fondazione IncontraDonna with the support of the Italian Association of Medical Oncology (AIOM). Throughout October, from Monday to Friday, passengers travelling on Frecce, Intercity or Trenitalia regional trains will have the opportunity to receive a free medical consultation on cancer prevention, thanks to healthcare professionals provided by AIOM.
The new edition of the campaign was presented this morning in Rome at a press conference attended by Giuseppe Inchingolo, Deputy General Manager Corporate of the FS Group, Francesca Stacchiotti, Chief People, Culture and Transformation Officer of the FS Group, Adriana Bonifacino, founder of Fondazione IncontraDonna, Rocco Bellante, President of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, and Undersecretary of State for Health Marcello Gemmato. Also among the speakers was Italy Women’s National Team head of delegation Sara Gama, who attended the event to highlight the FIGC’s commitment to renewing its support for the initiative and promoting prevention messages on the issue. The world of football continues to stand alongside FrecciaRosa, which will be present at Serie A stadiums and at National Team events.

“On behalf of the Italian Football Federation, I would like to thank the FS Group for once again choosing to stand alongside women and beyond, with a practical commitment that makes a difference,” said Gama. “The Women’s National Team has always supported the FrecciaRosa project because it puts a precious value at the heart of its work: prevention, the greatest act of responsibility towards ourselves and others. Our players know this well and are very receptive to this message, because caring for and protecting their health is fundamental to their lives.”
Every year in Italy, more than 390,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed, around 176,000 of them in women. Of these, more than 70,000 could be prevented through healthy lifestyles and greater participation in prevention and early diagnosis programmes. Particular attention must be paid to breast cancer, the most frequently diagnosed cancer among women, which affected more than 53,000 women in 2025.
These figures underline the importance of information and awareness-raising activities. For this reason, the new edition of FrecciaRosa is also taking prevention ‘on the ground’, for the first time at RFI’s Cosenza station and at the FS Logistix terminal in Sampierdarena, Genoa, alongside the event already scheduled at the San Lorenzo terminal in Rome. RFI will also take part in a special ‘lighting up’ of 40 stations, which will be illuminated in pink on the evenings of 30 September and 1 October.
