On the occasion of the Italy vs. Israel 2026 World Cup qualifier, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) will support the work of the UEFA Foundation for Children, which aids several NGOs operating in Gaza to help relieve the suffering of children affected by the war.
Building on its concrete efforts to support various humanitarian initiatives in Ukraine, and renewing its strong call for peace in Palestine and all other conflict-affected areas of the world, the FIGC will provide financial contributions to support UEFA’s humanitarian projects. These include Médecins du Monde, which operates in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank by setting up emergency medical facilities, improving coordination, and distributing food kits for children, as well as Handicap International–Humanity & Inclusion, which provides first aid kits and is heavily involved in psychosocial support, emergency assistance, and rehabilitation for the severely injured and people with disabilities.
“We are deeply saddened by what is happening in the Gaza Strip,” said FIGC President Gabriele Gravina, “and we want to express our compassion and solidarity with Palestinian children through a concrete act. The FIGC is also active with humanitarian programs in other war-torn areas, because we cannot and must not resign ourselves to the suffering of innocent people.”
