The UEFA Executive Committee, which met today in Nyon, has awarded Italy the hosting rights for the 2029 Women’s Under-19 European Championship final stage. Abruzzo and the Marche will host the tournament, marking the second time Italy has held the event: the first was in 2011, when the Azzurrine were eliminated in the semifinals by Norway in Emilia-Romagna. That result from 14 years ago has been matched this year by Nicola Matteucci’s team, which, following their impressive run in Poland, securing a place in the 2026 U-20 World Cup, clinched qualification yesterday for Round 2 of the 2026 European Championship qualifiers.

There will be four match venues, two in each region, with the FIGC organizing the tournament in collaboration with the Abruzzo and Marche regional authorities. The Women’s Under-19 European Championship will be held at Stadio Guido Angelini in Chieti, Stadio Bruno Recchioni in Fermo, Stadio Pavone-Mariani in Pineto, and Stadio Riviera delle Palme in San Benedetto del Tronto.
“Hosting the final stage of the Women’s Under-19 European Championship is an important recognition for the FIGC and for the entire Italian women’s football movement,” said President Gabriele Gravina. “As part of the development path we have undertaken, organising a tournament whose popularity continues to grow represents a key milestone, capable of generating significant momentum for the sport and positive impacts for the regions involved. I want to personally thank the authorities of Abruzzo and Marche for their vision and willingness to support this initiative. As a Federation, we strongly believe in this project and will be fully prepared for this prestigious event.”
At the same time, the Executive Committee awarded Germany the hosting rights for the 2029 Women’s European Championship and confirmed the venues for the 2028 and 2029 youth European Championships, which will be as follows:
