The Stadio Friuli in Udine will host the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday 13 August. The official news came from the UEFA Executive Committee this morning in Lausanne.

Udine will thus be the first Italian city to host the UEFA Super Cup since the title has been decided in a single game. The last UEFA Super Cup to be played in Italy dates back to 5 February 1998 in Palermo when Juventus beat Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg, having won the first leg in France 6-1.

FIGC President Gabriele Gravina: "Udine hosting the UEFA Super Cup is a great success for Italy. We took on the commitment with the Pozzo family, Udinese, the city and Friuli Venezia Giulia region, which are investing greatly in sporting structures, and we have supported it. I’d like to thank the Ceferin President and our colleagues on the Executive Commitee because the European footballing season 2025/26 will commence in Italy in August for the first time in history".

In October, Udine hosted the Nations League game between Italy and Israel, won 4-1 by the Azzurri. The Stadio Friuli hosted the U19 EUROS in 2019, as Spain beat Germany 2-1.
