After their incredible run at the 2025 Euros, the Women’s National Team are ready to find out who their opponents will be in the next edition of the World Cup. Tomorrow at 13:00 in Nyon (live streaming on uefa.com), the draw for the league stage of the 2027 World Cup Qualifiers will take place, with the games scheduled from February to June 2026.
As a result of finishing second in their group in the last Nations League, Italy will start from the second pot of League A with England, Norway, and the Netherlands (the first pot includes Spain, Germany, France, and Sweden, the national teams that qualified for the UEFA Final Four). Head Coach Andrea Soncin will be in attendance at the draw, and at the end of the month, he will travel with the team to Florida to play in two friendlies against the USA, scheduled for November 29 in Orlando and December 2 in Fort Lauderdale (both kicking off at 13:00 CET)
In the qualifiers, exactly like in the league phase of the Nations League, teams are split into groups of four or three (League C), playing one home game and one away against each of their group opponents.
The winners of each League A group will secure a place at the World Cup, which is set to take place in Brazil in less than two years. The remaining seven direct spots, plus one more through the intercontinental play-offs in February 2027, will be up for grabs in the play-offs, which will feature two rounds played in October and November/December 2026.
