After the matches that took place from November 12 to 18 in Sicily, the Azzurini topped the table in Group 9 of the first phase of the European qualifiers with seven points. Now the Italy Under-19s will start the new year with a friendly against Spain’s U19s. The match is scheduled for Wednesday, January 14, at 14:00 CET at the Coverciano Technical Centre in Coverciano, where the Azzurrini will gather on Sunday evening.

Coach Alberto Bollini has called up 22 players for the match, all born in 2007, except for four from the 2008 generation: defenders Mattia Marello (Inter) and Luca Reggiani (Borussia Dortmund), and midfielders Christian Comotto (Spezia) and Federico Steffanoni (Atalanta).
