Following the injuries sustained during the Azzurri’s match against North Macedonia, Gianluca Mancini and Matteo Politano will not rejoin the National team on the restart. Mancini has returned to Roma to recover from an adductor muscle strain in the right thigh and Politano has returned to Napoli to address the tenderness of the triceps surae. Luciano Spalletti, given the medical diagnoses, has decided to release the players back to their clubs as part of the mutually collaborative relationship between the National side and Italian clubs.

Ahead of the game against Ukraine on Tuesday, considering the previous withdrawals of Pellegrini and Chiesa, Spalletti has called up Riccardo Orsolini (Bologna), who will join the Azzurri at the Milanello sports centre where they arrived last night and will continue to prepare for the next match.
