The Azzurri lost 2-0 to the Netherlands in Prato as the Oranje scored on either side of half time. The guests had the better of proceedings in the first half and opened the scoring on the half-hour mark through Milambo. Corradi made changes at the break and Italy looked much improved, though unfortunately conceded during their best spell of the game, Slory with the goal.

"The camp went well. We got one result but tonight’s game went less well," Bernardo Corradi said after the game. "We came up against a strong, physical side, with good individuals and a good group. We suffered more than we should have in the first half, but that was also because I made some requests of the boys that they weren’t able to carry out at this stage of the season."

"We adjusted tactically in the second half; we made changes and looked better," he explained.  "They did really well while we know we have work to do. But we already knew that since it’s the start of the season."
