The U17s’ training camp, which began on Tuesday 19 May, concluded with a convincing 3-0 win. This morning (11:00 CEST), the Azzurrini beat Roma’s Under-17 side, coached by Alessandro Toti and already into the quarter-finals of the Under-17 Serie A and B national championship, on Pitch 3 at the Giulio Onesti Olympic Training Centre in Rome, dedicated to Gianluca Vialli.
The Azzurrini, who discovered their group-stage opponents for the upcoming U17 World Cup in Qatar yesterday (19 November–13 December), took the lead in the 19th minute through Jacopo Landi before doubling their advantage in first-half stoppage time, again through the Empoli midfielder. In the second half, Daniele Franceschini’s side wrapped up the win through Fiorentina striker Federico Croci, who scored in the 69th minute, before Roma defender Dinesh Antonetti had a goal ruled out for offside moments later.

This afternoon, the Azzurrini coach announced the 20-player squad for the European Championship finals, which take place from 25 May to 7 June in Estonia.
Italy, who travel to Tallinn tomorrow morning, will play all three Group B matches at the Kalevi Central Stadium, opening their campaign against France on Tuesday 26 May (13:30 CEST), before facing Montenegro on Friday 29 May (13:30 CEST) and Denmark on Monday 1 June (13:30 CEST). The top two teams in each group will advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for Thursday 4 June, while the final will be played on Sunday 7 June (20:00 local time, 19:00 in the UK/Italy) at the Lilleküla Stadium.
